Welcome back to the Freaky Deaky, today we're going to be talking about a subject that's not only a bit unsettling, and at times mildly infuriating, but even downright terrifying; and that my friends is False Awakenings, otherwise known as Dream loops. We've touched on a couple of dream loop stories in the past, most notably, and I may be wrong in placing it, but I believe it was in Season 1's Halloween Episode. Either way, it's a terrifying topic that I've been wanting to do an episode on for a while now, BUT the reason I actually got around to doing it finally, is because my wife, Christian's daughter, found herself in a dream loop recently, that seemed to shake her pretty badly. Now, she's given me permission to share some of the details here on the podcast, so we'll kickstart this episode off with her story, and share some other terrifying accounts we've collected from the vast digital expanse known as the internet!

Welcome back to The Freaky Deaky! We've got a treat for you this week, as we take a look into tales, both wholesome and horrifying, from the open road! That's right, we're diving into the ever so mysterious world of Phantom Hitchhikers (Phantom Travelers). The vanishing or phantom hitchhiker is an urban legend in which people traveling by vehicle, meet with or are accompanied by a hitchhiker who subsequently vanishes without explanation, often from a moving vehicle.
Public knowledge of the story expanded greatly with the 1981 publication of a non-fiction book, The Vanishing Hitchhiker. In this book, the author suggests that the story can be traced as far back as the 1870s and has "recognizable parallels in Korea, Tsarist Russia, among Chinese-Americans, Mormons, and Ozark mountaineers."
